iTunes is a media library and media player distributed with the OS X operating system. Its main purpose is to let users download, save, sort and play music or videos on their personal computers or mobile devices such as the iPod, iPhone or iPad.
It is also compatible with Microsoft Windows and it can be used for purchasing music, books, games, movies, television shows or games through the iTunes Store.
