XCU files are used by the OpenOffice.Org system in order to configure various aspects of the program, especially in preparation or after installation of an add-on. These files are typically XML formatted and are also typically found as part of an OXT OpenOffice extension file and can be used to configure the default values of templates associated with the add-on, menus, and the labels for those menus.
