These are file extensions used by Macromedia (now Adobe) for the "Xtras" (plugins) required by their Shockwave player.

They re-arranged the files of this program to separate these "Xtras" from the main body of the application, and since then, many of us have not been able to get them working. Apparently, Adobe needs to do some testing on this application to ensure that users can actually use the damned thing.
