A video file created by Windows Media Center. This file type is created any time the Windows Media Center program is used to record a television program and is a successor to the DVR-MS file type that was used in versions of Windows prior to Windows 7.
WTV files are encoded using MPEG-2 compression for the video component of the files and MPEG-1 Layer II compression for the audio component of the files.
