The .txt file format is one of the most popular text formats in computing. Many other text formats are simply renamed .txt formatted files. These files contain no formatting information (ie no text centering, bold etc), instead they contains only ASCII characters.
David 2009-06-25 13:39:05 #1 I have some old (1988 vintage) .txt document files that will not open with standard ascii text software like Notepad. Was there some word-processing software that generated .txt files in another proprietary format? Maybe an old version of Wordperfect?..... or what?
