StarOffice (aka StarSuite in East Asia) is a commerical version of Sun Microsystems' free open-source project "OpenOffice". The main difference between StarOffice and OpenOffice is that StarOffice contains more features such as better fonts, templates and clip-art to name but a few.

StarOffice includes a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation software, drawing tool and database. StarOffice also supports the XML file format and can generate PDF and Flash formats.
