Have you found, downloaded or received an SDB file, but don't know which software program is required to open it?

Before attempting to open an SDB file, you'll need to determine what kind of file you are dealing with and whether it is even possible to open or view the file format.

Answer: Files which are given the .SDB extension are known as Win 2000 Security Configuration and Analysis Data files, however other file types may also use this extension. If you are aware of any additional file formats that use the SDB extension, please let us know.

How to open a SDB file:

SDB - After a technician worked on my computer to fix some settings problems, I can no longer open my Simply Accounting Version 2005 files. The files are in the SDB format.

I'm getting an error message that the file has been upgraded to a new file format and will only be opened with a new version of the software.

Problem is I never updated the software and now I can't access my 6 years of accounting history. Can someone help?
