Files with the SD extension are created with RealFlow to export user created 3D animations and to offer a viable solution for transferring 3D scenes between applications using plugins. RealFlow is a dynamic 3D simulator developed by Next Limit Technologies that can be used to recreate water surfaces, fluids, rigid objects and interactions between fluids and solid surfaces.

When creating a SD file with RealFlow the scene is exported along with all its settings. The user can also choose to adjust the SD export settings first or to export only individual objects from the scene. This is done by activating the object related Animation option. All resulting SD files will carry the name of the appropriate nodes.

How to open SD Files

The SD file format is the most common and reliable one for importing nodes into RealFlow. Opening a SD file is a simple process and it's done by choosing the Import command from the Icon Bar.
