.PS File Extension

PostScript File

Image File
PS files are files which are saved using the PostScript definition language and may contain any number of raster or vector graphics and text. PS files are supported by printers which have an onboard raster image processor and, in the case that the printer being used possesses one, PS files may be printed directly to the printer without first being opened by a supporting application.

PostScript files have, for the most part, been replaced by file formats such as PDF.
