A settings file that contains the user information and preferences for an Outlook e-mail account. These settings may include the information needed to connect to a mail server, the user filters, the user folders, and other settings.

Because these settings files only contain the information that is exported from the e-mail account, PRF files are often used in enterprise deployment to transfer common settings to multiple clients.
