PDB files are a program database file. These files are most commonly seen with programs that are compiled using Just-In-Time compiling or on a machine used for developing software; PDB files are often also shipped with the software that they describe. These files keep the debug symbols that are needed by the program to give meaningful exception messages that may be useful in debugging the program in the event of an error.
