Developed by the The Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA), the .MPO file format is known as a ‘Multi Picture Object’ file; and is popular with digital cameras for storing stereoscopic images.
These image files contain multiple .JPG images taken from different angles, resulting in a 3D image.

I accidentaly had the dial on the wrong setting with my Ricoh CX2 camera. I have a file with an MPO extension and don't know what to do with it. Any help?

MPO = Multiple Picture Object. This has become one of the standard formats for 3D images. I have a 3D camera on my phone and am looking for software that will render this image so I can view it on my laptop.

I recently got a new compact camera . Lumix Fx 77
As I could read on the user manual and other tests on the web . MPO is the extension for Multi Picture Object , use to produce all new 3D pictures. For the Lumix Panasonic , it takes 20 pictures while you make a 5/10 cm travelling , and only keeps 2 pictures to create the final 3D picture. At the time i write that , the only way to read those pictures is to connect the camera on a 3d TV through an HDMI cable
Hope that could help !
