    The old Encarta 95 used this kind of files. They were rather small, always below 1mb size. They could not manage sounds, only images, so they frequently had attached a .wav file to reproduce an explication. For instance, the article "ecliptic" in Encarta 95 was illustrated with a very good animation, showing how the sun's height above horizon changes with the seasons. This small movie was coded in a file named T048061A.MMM (116.650 bytes), but the sound was in a .wav file: T048061A.WAV (1.076.546 bytes). The Encarta engine opened both files at the same time, thus producing the feeling of a real multimedia file, with image and sound.
