.GI files being disk image files contain the complete contents and structure of the storage medium copied.

So to have the .gi image turn into a "hard copy" of the disk I just need to drag it onto a writable CD?

Isn't there any fancy software that I have to obtain before burning (like it happens with .iso files)?
