A DDAT file is a temporary DivX file that is being downloaded to the hard drive, but which is not completed. The structure of the file as well as the information contained is exactly the same as that of a DivX AVI file; however, the DDAT file is used by the software to reserve the hard drive space for the entire video file upon the initializing of the download and are renamed after the download is completed.
