The .CRX file extension is used by Google's Chrome browser and is used to store plugins/extensions for Chrome, which are basically small software programs that are used to change/enhance Chrome.
A single .CRX file can contain many files of differing data types, but commonly contain HTML, Javascript, CSS and image files. The contents within a .CRX file can be viewing using a regular archive tool such as WinRAR.
