.0XE File Extension

F-Secure Renamed Virus

Executable File
.0XE files are Virus files detected by F-Secure, an antivirus program. .0XE files contains a virus in an .EXE file that was not able to be disinfected. The virus has been renamed from an EXE file to an OXE file so that it will not execute when double-clicking it in Windows, which is the native behavior of an .EXE file. F-Secure uses a sequential naming pattern, so if there are two infected EXE files, you may see a ".0xe" file and a ".1xe" file. .0XE files should not be opened since they contain malicious code.
