Question: What is an SRT File?

Have you found, downloaded or received an SRT file, but don't know which software program is required to open it?

Answer: Files which are given the .SRT extension are known as Omron CX-Supervisor files, however other file types may also use this extension. If you are aware of any additional file formats that use the SRT extension, please let us know.

How to open a SRT file:

The best way to open an SRT file is to simply double-click it and let the default assoisated application open the file. If you are unable to open the file this way, it may be because you do not have the correct application associated with the extension to view or edit the SRT file.

    For viewing subtitle, Play the avi file using VLC media player, select load subtitle from video > subtitle menu. Select the downloaded srt file or any other format subtitle file

    I downloaded a torrent file and there is a folder which contains an .avi file and .srt subtitles file - the name of these files are the same.

    How do I play the .avi with this subtitle file?

    If I change a .txt file to a .srt file, my computer doesn't recognize it anymore and I can't edit it further, I have windows XP, can anyone help please?

    i just paly it with vlc player then click on video then subtitles track, open the file where your subtitle is save (english)
