A file with the extension .RTX is a text file associated with a mobile phone ringtone.

An .RTX file contains the ringtone name, a control section and a section containing a comma seperated sequence of ring tone commands.

The .RTX file format is backwards compatable with 'RTTTL' (Ring Tone Text Transfer Langauge) developed by 'Nokia'.
