KDMP files are a log created when a Windows program crashes and is used to diagnose problems in an application. These dumps contain a dump of the memory as well as relevant kernel and stack information related to the process. Almost all Microsoft OSes can create these dumps.
These dumps may be analyzed by either one of the two debugging programs created by Microsoft and available for free: Dr. Watson Postmortem Debugger and WinDbg.
