I'm looking for same thing. It looks as tho we r stuck doing it the HARD WAY. Yes , record it in real time to the HD per your fav mp3 recording software. Slow n painful. But at least we can burn to cd or dvd for an archive and free up some discs for new recordings

I don't think the HMA files are actually audio files, I think they are just the index files to the audio. I'm still researching, but I think you might need Sony Sonic Stage to play them and then hopefully convert on Sonic Stage. They should show up as MP3's since it is an MP3 recorder. ( I THINK )

just wanted to add, Sonic Stage didn't read any of the HMA files.

I am also looking for a way to convert .HMA files to MP3, has anyone had any luck? Sonic Stage will not play .HMA files

We need a player (computer software) in which we can play .HMA formatted files or a converter which can convert to another known audio file. thank you
