GDB files are database files that are used by the InterBase software for data storage. These files are no longer used by the InterBase software system and have been replaced by a new file format-- the IB file format. However, versions of InterBase prior to 7 do use the GDB format for their databases.
Although there is no size limit for version of this format from InterBase 6.5 and above, these files were limited to a 2GB size in version prior to 6.5.
