.DDD files are files that are proprietary to the Adobe Acrobat Distiller Software. These files are used by the Adobe Distiller Server in order to produce PDF documents on the fly from a print server. This allows professional looking documents at low-cost of both time and money and are produced at the actual time of printing from the markup files that are sent to the printer to create the actual document to be printed.
