The .XYS extension is used by XYplorer, a file manager for Windows. Scripting (similar to macros) was introduced to XYplorer in version 7, allowing you to automate certain XYplorer tasks and functions using the 'XYplorer Scripting language', these scripts are then stored in the .XYS format.
XYplorer is considered to be an advanced version of the Windows file manager (Windows explorer), and includes features such scripting, a multi-tabbed dual pane user-interface, a powerful search function.
