for a friend. There are lots of these files but she had lost them - old tax records - because she quit using WP, and I recover them by renaming the extension to .doc.
I don't know if Word will open them, but I use Open Office and it automatically converts them, complete with formattiing, to a DOC file
so they can be read again.
