The VCD file extension is a proprietary format that is used by the program VisualCADD in order to store the information related to a sketch-up in the program. Not only does it store the data representing both 2D and 3D objects in the drawing, but it stores the size metrics necessary to keep the drawing scaled properly and accurate when switching between multiple machines. All other information necessary for a drawing may also be contained in the VCD file.
