TOD file extension

JVC Camcorder Video File

The .TOD file format was created by JVC, to be used by their high-definition camcorder range (I.E JVC Everio).

The .TOD format is simply an MPEG2 formatted video file. If you wish to view the file on your computer, it is reportedly safe to rename the extension from .mod to .mpg

JVC created the .TOD format due to apparent copyright issues.

The known camcorder models that use the .TOD format are:

JVC: GZ-HD7, GZ-HD3, GZ-HD5, GZ-HD6, GZ-HD30, GZ-HD40
