SSW is a format that is used in order to provide firmware updates to any Sony Ericsson branded phone. These firmware updates can also be opened with the Sony Ericsson tool, SETool2, that allows service, repair, and unlocking of Sony Ericsson phones.
An SSW file can usually be transferred to a phone by USB or by a memory stick and then can be run to update the phone from the phone's menu.
