Propellorhead Reason is an audio production software suite that allows song composition and mixing. The RSN file stores the mixing, sequencing, and rack settings from inside the software.
However, because RSN files are not actually audio files, they contain no audio data. RSN files simply save the settings for the audio file being created or edited so that opening the RSN file will restore the settings that were being used. RSN files are actually project files.
