The RELS file is part of the Open Office and the Microsoft Office document specifications and is an XML formatted file found in the _RELS directory. The file defines a relationship for each part of the document to the various files that are combined to form the file.
These relationships are defined relationally as a relationship ID, a relationship type, and the path of the file that the relationship is describing.
