.NTF is a database template file for creating a new database file within Lotus Notes Software. Lotus was bought out by IBM, but was previously a commercial workflow/groupware software package that provides application developers an environment for quickly creating cross- platform client/server applications.
IBM now maintains the Lotus Notes software after having bought out the Lotus company.
