A playlist file found on Blu-Ray discs that creates the same functionality as the Title system that was used on DVDs in a more expandable way. Especially in the case of multiple videos on a Blu-Ray disc, the MPLS file allows the Blu-Ray player to determine the order that these videos should be played in.
These files are generally saved using a five-digit code and then saved to the Playlist directory on the Blu-Ray.
