The .LRC file format is better known as a lyrics file. These files are used to synchronize song lyrics with an audio file (similar to the way subtitles work).
These files are plain-text formatted and each line of the lyrics to be displayed is prefixed with the start-time:
[mm:ss.xx] 1st line of lyrics
[mm:ss.xx] 2nd line of lyrics etc
