The FXG file-type is a graphic format that was developed by Adobe as a format that would keep up with the future capabilities of the Flash platform. It expands upon the feature-set available in the SVG file format.
The format is an XML-based file type that is based on the MXML programming framework used by the Flex platform. Along with the features supported by the SVG format--including transparency and animation-- the FXG format can also handle symbol, fonts, and rasters.
