EFTX is a deprecated file format available in Microsoft Office 2007 that stored effects or themes that could be applied to elements in Word, Office, and Powerpoint in order to maintain a particular look or style across several files.
The file has been superceded by the THMX file in Office 2008, which simply is a theme extension and accomplishes roughly the same purpose as the EFTX file before it, but with more customization available.
