.CINE File Extension

Phantom Digital Video File

Video File
The .CINE/.CIN format is used for saving video information and auxiliary data captured from digital video cameras.

The Cine format is designed for storing and retrieving the recordings made by the Phantom high speed video cameras from Vision Research Inc.

The main goal of the Cine file is to store both the data about the pixels of images and additional information like the acquisition parameters, image time, analog signals recorded in parallel with the images, range data, etc. A cine file contains all the information produced at the recording of an event so you can retrieve data, playback the images, analyze them, etc.

The pixel information can be raw (as read from the sensor, without interpolation of the colors), interpolated uncompressed or compressed.
